Global Impact Celebration

Thank you, Church!

For your open hearts, and giving hands. Thank you for loving the people of the world by supporting those who are the front line of aiding and reaching people in Jesus’ name. Thank you for answering your own call to mission–we are here to support you in Christ’s holy mission for your life.

update: Bishop Muzorewa

I have just spoken with Bishop Muzorewa from Zimbabwe. Once he arrived in the U.S. he had some very serious medical issues arise that needed to be dealt with immediately. He visited the Dr. this morning and has learned the seriousness of the matter, and so he is being scheduled for surgery on Friday to remove a mass.

So, bad news – Bishop Muzorewa will not be able to be with us this weekend.

Good news – as he was asking the Dr. if he could still come to SA to “complete his mission” she told him “no”. However, she (the Dr.) assured him that had University UMC not invited him here to the states this week and he was walking around a village in Zimbabwe and this mass had ruptured (which they say it should have done by now) he would have died a painful death. In her estimation, University’s invitation to be here was God’s grace getting him to the U.S. so that he could get the care he needs.

As I spoke with him he was still very upset that he could not be here, but I assured him that if our invitation and effort to get him here was just so all of this could be found out and taken care of; then it has all worked out just as it needs to. He prayed for us at the end of our conversation, and I assured him we would continue in prayer for him. So, please pray for his medical team, and all of those who will be caring for him. And pray for him to have peace during all that will happen in the coming days.

We can’t discuss the private health issues of others. But we give glory to God for the way He orchestrated the situation and delivered Bishop Muzorewa into the hands of the finest doctors in this field of medicine. Thank you so much for your continued prayers. -Shauna
